The University of Alberta is hosting another Certificate in Municipal Management & Leadership (CMML) course starting in the fall.  Although AMSA numbers to host a course were not sufficient, we'd like to pass along the course flyer to AMSA members in case they'd like to attend individually.

The APWA Public Works Project of the Year Award was established to promote excellence in the management and administration of public works projects by recognizing the alliance between the managing agency, the consultant/architect/ engineer, and the contractor who, working together, complete public works projects.

This is awarded in four divisions based on project value:

1. Projects less than 1 million dollars

2. Projects of 1-5 million dollars

3. Projects of 5-10 million dollars

4. Projects more than 10 million dollars

Urban Systems was present at the RMA trade show and AMSA's convention and took the opportunity to crowd-source some information about what tools, like road classification systems and road construction standards, they are using to make decisions about roads (and communicate those decisions!). The survey link is below, and takes 5-7 minutes to complete. At this time the survey is designed for rural municipalities only.
